well as it turns out juan released yet another version of 1.9.2 just a couple hours ago, so it might be worth trying that version to see if the console errors are fixed. this new build is using a different version of Qt.

Johannes Maximilian Möslein:
Just a quick update from my side:

I tried installing 1.9.1 again, and it seems like the unprovoked crashes have stopped for now. Also, the bugs with the trackpad lagging and randomly scrolling are gone.
But the reproducible crashes (like ImageSolver with Distortion Correction checked, or during WBPP) still exist.

Johannes

why didn't you install 1.9.2? that is the version that seems to fix a lot of problems on osx (but people are still having problems with ImageSolver on macs with 16GB of memory)

[i might have responded to an old message written before 1.9.2 came out, astrobin might have fooled me]

Yes I wrote that before .2 was released.

Willem Jan Drijfhout:
Finished processing an image on 1.9.2 on MacOS (MacPro 2019, 16 core Intel Xeon, 160GB RAM). No crashes and all the tools worked as they were supposed to. Also processed 320 files through WBPP without any issues.

What did come back though is the occasional slurry of red text in the process console and erratically moving views and icons. I believe this issue had something to do with the QT version used. I don't think this is related to 1.9.2 and so far it did not crash the application, but annoying nevertheless.

Same for me. My one Mac is a Pro 2019 as well, and the crashes have almost gone (except for some) but those segmentation violations (the red text you wrote about) have drastically increased. But I’m starting to think this is more of a problem of the hardware getting outdated…
