Unfortunately, it seems like PixInsight is unusable on MacOS after 1.9 Lockhart. I experience frequent crashes (<5 mins) during processes, editing and scripts. Many of them are reproducible 100%. Sometimes it crashes even while doing nothing at all. I tested on 2 different Macs, both up to date and with zero problems with 1.8.x. Looking through CN and PI Forums, it seems like many others are having the same problems. Hopefully we will get fixes soon, but until then, I will have to go back to 1.8.9. Johannes |

No problem at all with 1.91 here. M1 Max, Sequioa 15.2. Although they rushed Lockhart out for some reason,1.91 is working fine for me.

Haven't upgraded to 1.9.1 yet. But, I did upgrade to 1.9 and used it bit, experienced no problems. In fact, the upgrade seems to have fixed a problem I experienced, but they could reproduce on 1.8.9 which was the inability to activate closed windows and process icons by selecting them. I'm running on an M1 Mac mini running Sequoia…

Had trouble like many others with 1.9, updated to 1.9.1 and no issues (so far…). M2 Max, MBP, 64 GB Ram. Apparently, the QT framework is playing bad tricks on Sequoia.

I haven't updated to 1.9.1 but I'm running 1.9 on Mac OSX 15, Mac Mini M4 Pro, no issues yet, but I haven't stacked with it (I use APP for stacking). Scripts, processes seem fine so far.

I have processed an image, but not yet done any stacking on 1.9.1. So far no issued on Macbook Pro M2 Max. Have also tried FastDrizzle which worked for me as well.
Waiting for NSG to be updated to the latest release before stacking anything as that’s my preferred tool for normalization.

I feel you - went back to 1.8.9 myself. Trying to run Image Solver alone kills 1.9 & 1.9.1 on MacOS 14.7.2 here (almost) every time. So does WBPP.

Cannot get WBPP to execute. It (1.9.x) crashes when arriving Registration. Plate solving crashes every time. But 1.8.9 runs well with the same data set. Mine is an Intel based Mac, running the latest MacOS.

I had it crashing all the time on 1.9, the upgrade to 1.9.1 solved all the problems I was having. Running on an M1, and M2Ultra and an M3Pro, it was the same across all three systems.

1.9.1 Crashed with Image Solver. Reloaded PixInsight, was able to run Image Solver. Even with the astronomical solution, AstroBin doesn't recognize it & plate solve failed on my recent image. MacBook Pro M3Max 64Gb

Just a quick update from my side:
I tried installing 1.9.1 again, and it seems like the unprovoked crashes have stopped for now. Also, the bugs with the trackpad lagging and randomly scrolling are gone. But the reproducible crashes (like ImageSolver with Distortion Correction checked, or during WBPP) still exist.
