You can only report the image in instagram if it’s your image. You should make an account and do so. This guy seems like a real scumbag. He disabled comments on the image, likely because he didn’t want anyone calling out his fraud.
Unfortunately this is becoming more and more common as people chase fame on social media. Jason Guenzel was driven off Astrobin because people kept stealing his images. He now only posts on Instagram because it doesn’t allow people to download full res images.

On insta, the guy calls it a 26 hour exposure. It actually looks like a bot to me. I'm guessing he's stolen most of the shots on his account from AB

Was gonna say the same, I wonder who's images the rest are. Several of them looks familiar in some way.
I thought full res downloads weren't available unless you unchecked the box while posting?
I fully understand the resentment towards stealing images though you seem to be taking it rather well. I'm not sure if I would have been gracious enough to take it as a compliment with all the work that goes into it in mind.

He clearly is sad to copy and say he has captured it. The disable of comments clearly indicates a copy. He clearly has no idea of imaging if you look at his other images the information he puts to his description dont reflect the image quality. You can certainly just try and contact Instagram directly. But it's kind nice in round about way that he thinks worth a copy, least you know it's yours. If you have Facebook place it on there for everyone to see, name and shame I say. Oh different note bloody good image , nice one

Imitation is the highest form of flattery, I’d be ok with it… Swiping other people’s stuff is generally not cool, but I see this hobby as a personal growth adventure and he’s gaining nothing personally from simply stealing so you’re still in the winning seat as he’s gaining no knowledge at all… The older I get the more proud I am when others take my ideas and work as their own… Assuming I’m not losing money I’m fine with it…

I have found the original of the bubble nebula, rho region and the spaghetti, all from here. And I’m pretty sure I know the source of the Cygnus wall, very distinct editing style.
once I get the kids in bed I’ll post my findings so we can verify and then spam his account. I’m not ok with this.

There is an extra form on Insta I had to report 2 pictures of myself and they were deleted from the accounts in a few hours |

It's one thing for some of these accounts that are just reposting "space" related pictures. This guy is actually passing himself of as an astrophotographer.. he's claiming your image as his own. I'd recommend you create an instagram account and report him. Instagrams reporting system seems pretty toothless unless its reported by the actual owner of the content. From Instagram's site: A report alleging infringement of intellectual property rights must come from the rights owner or someone authorized to report on their behalf (for example: attorney, agent). If you are not the rights owner or their authorized representative, we will not be able to process your report. If you believe others' rights may be infringed, you may wish to ask them to review the intellectual property section of the Help Center.So yea.. I'd be upset.. and I'd try to report it... just to not make things too easy for mr. fake astrophotographer.
