Here and there I have seen folks place professional logos or signatures on their images and since Astrophotography is an art form, it would seem like that a logo or signature would be a nice finishing touch. I am not only thinking about images on Astrobin, but also images on metal. Since these are often done by third parties, a real signature would be problematic. My real signature is also not the most pleasing thing to look at. If you have any recommendations about this topic, it would be nice to know about them.

Designing a distinct and beautiful logo is hard and adding an handwritten signature can be ugly (my signature is also not the prettiest) or at least distracting. The advice given from my photography professors is that adding graphical elements to a photograph is a subject better suited for a graphics designer. My advice, as a person who don't like photography logos, is... to ask advice from a graphics designer, or if that's not possible, to add your name at the bottom right corner of your photograph by using a small, sans-serif and low-opacity font. (And please avoid the Comic Sans or the Papyrus font ![]() |

Nice logo! So did you actually followed my advice to consult a professional? Sometimes there are itches we can't reach by ourselves ![]() |
