All, I was wondering if a search can be performed that would allow for all images specifically captured in Alt-AZ? With todays stacking software having the ability to compensate for rotation I would like to see images taken in Alt-AZ. I have noticed that there is no field specifically to call out if EQ or Alt-AZ was used. I am thinking of getting a CPC Deluxe Edge 1100 for galaxies and planetary nebulae imaging. However getting it on the pro-wedge for EQ looks to be more than I can handle. Has anyone used this in Alt-AZ for capturing images? Regards, John |

I stumbled upon this monster when I got interested in a Celestron NexStar Evolution 8 / 9.5, you may like this video: (7) Review of the Celestron CPC 1100 - A BIG Catadioptric! - YouTube There is currently no CPC in the Equipment database but a search for the keywords CPC 1100 reveals some nice images: Search - AstroBin Clear skies Wolfgang |

Salvatore Iovene: The reason I asked this question is that there are several mounts that do both ALT-AZ and EQ. It would be nice if there was a field that could be selected that indicated the image was captured in ALT-AZ or EQ. When looking at the CPC 1100 images which can do both, I have to see if the image used autoguiding (PHD2). This was the only way to know it was not captured in ALT-AZ but in EQ mode. There are members that do only ALT-AZ imaging such as Altazastro and he states that in his posts. However there are others but difficult to find. |
