Are you copying files after capture to another storage over WiFi (eg using RoboCopy or similar)? I have a decent spec mini-PC and had it set up to save my image to local SSD after capture and immediately copy it over to my laptop via a shared WiFi connection whilst the next image was being captured. I found that for whatever reason, this process would result in my mini-Pc crashing at some point in the night. Now, I only save locally during an imaging sequence and have RoboCopy transfer the files over WIFI after the imaging sequence has finished in NINA, so now I don't get any crashes!

Keith Mombourquette:
In windows update settings you can set the hours when you don't want windows to run an update.  I set my active hours from 6pm to 8 am.  If windows is going to update it does so while the sun is shining.

This was the exact issue I had running my Windows mini PC. I changed the active hours to be overnight and it corrected the issue. I would come out to my rig in the morning and found it had rebooted sometime in the night.

Thanks everybody for all the inputs. I learned a lot after reading your comments and also doing other research on the web. I think I got a pretty good idea of what to do.
  • Change  the active hours to be overnight (it was set in the morning and when I checked the Windows Update history I found that last one actually happened exaclly the night I had last "random" reboot)
  • Spreading USB load bandwidth across 2x front and 2x back USB3 ports of the NUC mini-PC.
    • [*]
Main Imaging Camera: Plug into one of the rear USB 3.0 ports — better to  have a more direct path to the NUC internal controller and are less likely to be power-limited.
      [*]
Guide Camera: Plug into the front USB 3.0 port.
    • Mount : Use the second port on the back
    • Powered USB Hub: Use the second port on the front and connect   Pegasusastro power box, Sky  Camera, Motorized Flat Panel

  • Regarding the Sky Cam –  I am using a long USB cable (>2m)  since the camera is mounted on the side of the observatory , but long cable means it must have stable power hence the need of powered USB Hub (which I have to buy since I am currenlty using a NON-powered USB hub)

With all above changes I feel pretty confident to have the issues addressed.
I will provide an update in later days after testing.
