Hi everyone, I'm excited to join the AstroBin community! My name is Ray Mandeville and my journey with astronomy started over 30 years ago when I shared a Meade 8" LX200 with my son. We spent many enjoyable nights exploring the cosmos visually. As he grew older, his interests shifted (as they often do!), and mine took a bit of a back seat as well. Now that I'm retired from my career as an FEA analyst, I've rediscovered my passion for the night sky, but with a modern twist! For the past 18 months or so, I've been fully immersed in the world of Electronically Assisted Astronomy (EAA) using my Vaonis Vespera and Vespera Pro. It's been an incredible experience, and I feel like I've learned so much in this short time. I'm looking forward to connecting with fellow astrophotographers, sharing my images, and continuing to learn and grow in this fascinating hobby.

Welcome! I started in astronomy with my dad over 40 years ago with a Questar and Celestron 8. Much has changed since then! I have recently joined the modern world of astrophotography and have truly enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy being a part of AstroBin, it is a wonderful community.
