Hello Astrobin community,

I have been on Astrobin for a couple of months now and stumbled across this page rather recently. I am Vineet and i have been doing some imaging with the Seestar S50 since November 2024 from a small town in Southern Switzerland. I started off with a 6inch Dobsonian for some visual observing which helped a lot with respect to learning the sky.
After catching the Andromeda with some long exposure photos with my iPhone, I finally decided to revisit the long held dormant hobby. Starting off with the Seestar due to the ease of the system usage which then allows me to invest time into learning image processing. So far the little guy has passed all my expectations. However, I am hoping to move onto a "non smartscope" rig in a few months. Either that or a second Seestar like some other members of the community.
All in all, a beautiful hobby and a great community to share it with and learn from. Hopefully, i can pass it on to my kids once they catch interest.

I hope you have better weather compared to northern Switzerland down there

It has been blowing a bit hot and cold here in Wallis. Dec-Jan was very good. Feb had beautiful days and once the sun is about to set, often the clouds would come in. Now that it is almost spring time, we have these windy/gusty evenings with Föhn winds. Have to stick to early mornings. But it is the way it works with this hobby. Cannot do it during the day
