Hello all!

I will soon be installing a CQ350 mount on my observatory pier, but I couldn't find a reliable source of information or technical drawing of the base of the mount head, where I would fit my personalized adapter for my pier. It looks like it uses the same fit that the EQ8 uses, but I wanted to be sure before expending money on anything. The manual of the CQ350 doesn't have a technical drawing of the base plate, however the EQ8 manual does, so if they really use the same base plate design, I could work from that.

I would also like to know if it uses the central M12 bolt from below or just the the two M8 bolts on top to hold it in place.

Below is an image I found for the EQ8. I would like to know if these measurements will work for the CQ350.

Another information that I wanted is the exact name of the power connection of this mount. Is it the same from the EQ6-R Pro?

It is the same as the EQ8. I personally have an order in with Dan's Pier Plates for an EQ8 adapter. I used his pier top plate and anchor kit, for a HEQ5 when I poured my pier last year, so now i can just swap the top adapter plate and call it a day.

The power connector is a GX12-2. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D2V5WTTP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I bought that so I can lop off one end and wire it to my 12V system in my observatory.

Hi,

It’s pier connection is same as EQ8. Check out my gallery for CQ350 mounted on a Pier Tripod that’s used with EQ8.

It’s power source is same as EQ6-R.
