Back in 2005 I completed the design and construction of a novel very fast astrograph. Find construction notes here: http://hbastro.com/FabandTestPhotos.html

An 8.25" F/2.6 folded flat field Schmidt camera. Designed for the "at the time state of the art" NEW SBIG STIL11000m camera. This scope has been a wonderful companion on thousands of miles of field astronomy. Finally finding a home at my remote observatory site in 2013. It was in service until about 2018 resting in the 6'dome. Around that time I started testing a new apo design for a friend, the Melior. The astrograph was set aside until now.

Attached is a pdf file outlining the modification and upgrade of the 8.25" F/2.6 astrograph. My plan is to field the scope this spring 2025, for another first light 20 years later.

I had planned on making a 10" F/2.4 Schmidt camera but will put that project on hold pending the results of this upgrade. link to 10" F/2.4 Schmidt camera project: https://app.astrobin.com/u/hbastro?i=7borh0#gallery
