Wondering if this is something anyone else has seen. I recently switched from color to mono and noticed that the flats for the same filter and same optics look quite different.

To the left is the flat for my color camera (533MC) and to the left for my mono (6200MM) cropped to show the same area. Same optics, same filter (Antlia Edge Sii). The mono flat shows the expected vignetting of the Newtonian with some dust specks. But the color flat shows another pattern on top (which also shows up in the lights and usually cancels out just fine).
I always thought the non-uniformities in my flats are coming from differences in the coating of the filter but now it looks more like this might come from non-uniformities in the CFA across the color sensor. Any thoughts?

I really hate flat peeping, it's a personal problem, I know ;)
Honestly though, I never look at them unless I have a problem that's visible in my light frames. How do your calibrated stacks look with the new camera?

For both, color and mono the calibrated lights look fine. No issue, this is more of an academic question. Curiosity about where the difference is coming from.

Different sensor, different bandpass thus different responses

Different sensors, different optical trains (osc has an IR cut window, mono does not or has a filter in front), different flats.

Both those flats shown above, look totally awful TBH, but they should look different as 2 completely different sensors and optical trains, so not sure what you expect really, do they work with your images, if so what’s the issue…? If not then try again

I get very strange flats. Regardless if mono or osc. Coatings and shadows can play with the flat but that's the whole purpose. It exposes issues in your optical train not otherwise seen. Will vary from osc to mono because its two different cameras
