In a discussion with one of my friends (a follower of my work) on either my image or his, not sure I remember, I learned that he intended to go to a star party here in Oregon, USA. He was not able to attend and, as it turns out, it was cancelled because of forest fires, but I realized that not knowing this ahead of time meant that there was a good chance that I might never have met him at this party, except for a chance encounter. How many other of my friends here would I have missed? In our discussion on this, I wondered if there is some mechanism to post to our personal group of followers (or maybe a subsection of them) notices of such activities or other situations that I probably am not thinking of here on this post? And, of course, given my severe short-sightedness, it is likely that such a thing already exists on AstroBin, so please let me know. Otherwise, I thought an open discussion might serve to better define such a thing that people might use to connect with in ways that go beyond the obvious ways we do things here on AB.

H Alan, you can create a private group for you and your friends. That comes with a private forum where everyone gets notified about new posts. That should do for your use case, I believe. |
