I am interested in combining this telescope with the Starizona Apex ED 0.65x Reducer. I know that the reducer works well with the Esprit 120mm but I want to hear about how well it works with the Askar 120APO. I looked for images but could not find any. Thanks! |

Well, I went ahead and combined the Askar 120 APO with the 0.65x reducer from Starizona. I already reported in Cloudy Nights and the link is here: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/892616-askar-120-apo/?p=13530265 My preliminary image (need more data for the final) is here: https://www.astrobin.com/wsxt50/ Over all I am very happy with the results. I now have a pretty good OTA at 546mm and fast at f/4.6. |

Hey Thanks for sharing. I too am interested in the results. The big circle around the center seems to be vigneting right? Did you do flats? I'm going to get one to pair with my 102 |

I have to relook at the original image. That was not seen on the original image.

Curious about the ring on the Astrobin image as well. I have the Askar120 APO with the .8 reducer as well as the 1X flattener and just recently shot Draco with the 1X very pleased with the result. Most of my time with the scope has been with the reducer and I am happy with that as well. It's a great and versatile scope.
