before I say anything, I want to show you the best images IMO I have processed up to now:

The North America Nebula - LRHGB with RGB stars - DSW

The Boogeyman Nebula - LDN1622 - LRHGB with RGB stars - DSW

Fighting Dragons of Ara - LRGB - DSW

I can do better if I really focus

you be the judge on how well I did

I also participated in helping out with processing this Top Pick (M83): https://www.astrobin.com/byp8dk/?nc=collection&nce=33533

So now to the point:

I wanna do something different and break out from the monotony

you know, we're always taking data off of certain objects, and posting a processed image and getting maybe 6 likes, and then having it be forgotten for a century, after all the work... (sometimes)

we don't do too many big collabs either

why can't we do a mega deep image collab of something?

like, I mean, you give me the data, I process it? How about that?

We can discuss what object you want me to process, then I'll do it

you don't have to use Dropbox or anything like that if you don't want the data public; just send it to my email and I'll sort it out.

And I give my email once we choose the object?

Agreed?

I really want to put my processing energy into doing something nice.

But plz, nothing with mosaics; that'll complicate everything a thousandfold.

M63 is one nice option; we could uncover what's really lying deeeeep, all the dusty loops and things, and I could put my own M63 data in there too.

M94 is another; M101, and M109, and M104, M106, etc...

maybe a galaxy cluster? that sounds interesting.

A vote would be best to choose the object.

M63 is not just any galaxy

look at the complexity of the tidal streams in this image https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/758813-m63-with-tidal-stream/

and it looks like it keeps going and going outwards, but getting fainter

Well, nice idea, yes. However, these kind of projects need to be coordinated well in terms of FL, filters but also object availability (M63 is already on the second half of the meridian at the beginning of the night).

Plus, just leaving the processing to one person (namely you) might not attract many people. You might need to organize and provide a platform to share the data among all contributors, as everyone might wanna give it a go.

I might be interested in the future when I have more imaging time after going remote. My focal length is 550mm, so more widefield staff.

ahhh, I see now why people were so quiet

you opened my eyes to my selfishness

okay, we could use Filebin or Dropbox, for everyone to access it

and that's a better choice, also because, then we could compare who processed it best, then post that as the final edit.

thanks
