GiffS here been into astronomy since the late 1970s. In those days I wrestled with a early C8 on a wedge. Did a bunch of visual with it but when I used it for photography it was from inside a blind shooting birds in bog. In those days I never trained my camera on DSOs and only rarely on the moon or a planet. Fast forward to today and while I have always had a scope, usually and SCT, it wasn’t until a year or two ago I started down the AP road. Like many I began shooting the moon and planets and evolved into capturing DSOs. The learning curve is steep and often counter intuitive but that’s part of the fun. I have to say that the acquisition part comes a lot easier to me than does the post processing work. The journey is just beginning. Clear, calm skies to all. |
