I took up astronomy/astrophotography back during Covid after retiring from paragliding. Astrophotography is, compared to paragliding, somewhat less physically demanding and infinitely more fiscally demanding. So, still fairly new to it and still on the steep part of the so-called learning curve and what fun it is.
Astrobin is a source of great inspiration; discovering what can be achieved, and in some measure, appreciating a few possibly unatainable heights as well - some folks are just that good.
I am south west of Melbourne in Point Cook, Just down the road from RAAF Williams, the birthplace of the Royal Australian Air Force and the oldest continually operating military airfield in the world. Home is now the Point Cook Observatory.
For those lovely Astrobin aficionados in the Northern Hemisphere, be prepared for images of the moon, planets and DSOs which are shown the right way up, and the correct spelling of words such as colour, programme and centre
