Hello my fellow astrophotographers!

After almost a year in this hobby, and after several people asking me how come I am not in Astrobin, I am finally here!

I live in Andorra. I guess many of you have never heard about this country and I understand why. Andorra is a tiny country located between France and Spain, in the top of the Pyrenees mountains. We have a bit less than 80k people living here.

What I really like to do in this hobby is to create Youtube videos using the images I captures with my Redcat 51 telescope and Milky way time lapses from my mountain's hiking.

I leave the link below in case anyone is interested

Cheers!

You are correct, I have not heard of Andorra. Your Orion photo is very good, especially after just one year in the hobby.

Welcome! The wife and I were so bummed we didn't visit Andorra last year! We were in Barcelona for a few days and were contemplating getting a rental car and driving there. Would love to make it there some day.

Welcome to Astrobin.
I've been in Andorra (La Vella) several years ago (I'm from Italy). Lovely city!

I guess that being in the middle of the Pyrenees you have some clear and dark skies. Lucky you!

I love your Orion picture

Cheers

Thanks Dan, next time you are in Spain or France you can check if you are near Andorra and visit it ;)

Well, I took this photo of the Orion Nebula when I was just 4 months in the hobby. Pretty proud of this image. However later projects were not so successful. I am still learning.

Cheers!

If you like to ski, hiking or cycling here is a good place to visit.

Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to Abin, Alex.  I've been to Andorra with a high point of watching a sheep dogs competing in a sheep-herding contest.  Lovely little country.

Benvingut!
I live in Catalonia, about 3 hours from the boarder. My family and I got to visit for a day last year during the Christmas season and we thoroughly enjoyed it! We are planning on coming back again this coming winter. You have a beautiful country and some lovely dark skies. Continue to enjoy the hobby, even if you can’t do it from home. (I saw your other post about not having a backyard.) I’m in the same situation and, while it stinks having to travel every time I want to image, being out under the stars is hard to beat.
Clear skies, and welcome!

Really liked your "I don't have a backyard" video. I think I'd drive to that location whether I had a backyard or not smile The big question is, Have you visited Pic du Midi? Which, is one of my biggest bucket list locations to visit.

Hi Mike, yes I did, more or less, visited the Pic du Midi. In fact, I was in the Ibones de Anayet which has an amazing view of it. Check this video I made of my trip to the Ibones de Anayet:

It seems weird to me that people would not have heard of Andorra. I mean, we all had geography classes, right?
Of course I heard of it and everything there is about it. I guess our school system in Albania is quite extensive …

Actually I've heard about Andorra, Pyrenees and the Basque Country. I took Geography in the highschool, so it was a request to know every country in the planet. Very happy that you join us and really loved your content.

Not to mention the Eurovision song contest where they were participating in the 00's...

When normal people are seeking for potential countries to move for finding a job, they consult Google Maps and Numbeo among others. Astrophotographers (like myself at least) look at light pollution maps. Of course I know Andorra for the quality skies of the Pyrenees smilesmilesmile! Nice YouTube video BTW!

Well… I visit your country twice a year for skiing and mountain biking! I wish I live there! Seeing your channel, it seems I will need to add a third trip per year for astrophotography. Nice skies there i see!
