Hello there guys, how are you doing?
As the title suggest, I just discovered, almost by accident, that last year, after trying to capture the comet without any luck, that one of the days I left my camera doing a timelapse just to make a comparison I captured the comet, very very small in the middle of the frame.
I was doing this from my balcony, so, there is a considerable amount of light pollution. I tried stacking the timelapse and I managed to get some details out of it, but nothing really that good honestly, the timelapse was made with a 35mm so, it is pretty small in the frame.
I'm going to leave a picture of the 333 images I have so, if anyone has the will, can tell me if there is, by magic or any other strange form, a way to get even more detail out of the stacking I made, which by the way, I had to make manually to highilight the comet.

Thanks in advance.

And then, the image already processed, in the timelapse:

And then, the stacked image. I must say, I haven't done too many stackings in my life, so, I know it may be a bit horrible for many of you guys, so, please be kind haha:

It seems pretty good to me. I haven't focused on stacking much aswell since I started doing astrophotography.
But just for the record, the A3 Atlas is clear and can be pinpointed accurately. By the way, here's an interesting fact: A new comet, C/2025 F2 Swan, has appeared this year. It has officially been announced that this comet will be visible in the northern hemisphere during April and after perihelion in the southern hemisphere as soon as May starts. It can also be observed through a telescope or binoculars. Catching a glimpse of this comet can be a bit challenging since it rises in the sky at dawn around 4 a.m. Good luck if you decide to try to spot it!

Thanks for the feedback and the news about the new comet, I knew it because I do a series of videos every month, in spanish though, about what's in the night sky for that month. The astronomic events lets say.

I'll try, we've been having pretty difficult days with the clouds, but who knows? Fingers crossed.

Have you tried to stack with SIRIL and then a background extraction on the result with GraXpert ?
Both software are free and very efficient.

Thanks for this. Actually, no, haven't tried those. I'll take a look at them. Thinking that I'm about to learn quite a few things over here in these forums.
If you have any tutorials or suggested videos, I'll appreciate them for sure.
Thanks again.

Here you can find the official tutorial
https://siril.org/tutorials/

Here you can find scripts that may help you, especially if no FLAT, DARK or both DBF (Dias included) - OSC = color cam
https://gitlab.com/free-astro/siril-scripts/-/tree/main/preprocessing?ref_type=heads

According to... me, the best Youtube Channel for SIRIL is
