For me it has to be the Aurora of October 10th. Watching the whole sky exploded from this bortle 7 park just showed how intense that flare was. Best thing I've witnessed since I  started this hobby in 2021InShot_20241011_232640268.jpg

*** I can't agree more.
It was the same for, I spent practically all of september and october trying to catch the comet without any luck, it was almost ridiculous at one point, and then, all of the sudden, the 10th was perfect. I remember saying to my wife, OK darling, I'm leaving to the mountains, I don't know what's going to happen but I'm going... and I almost, just almost, lost the auroras because I had some... problems lets say, with a group of 50 cows blocking my way up to the top of the mountain, I had to take an alternative route, a kind of dangerous one considering I was carrying almost 30kg in my backpack so I wasn't even seeing the sky because I was so focused about not falling into the river...
And then, just to be sure, I decided to take a picture of the cows under the milky way and that's when I saw the sky finally.
Best gift the night sky gave me last year without a doubt.

horseflamecasper.jpgAs the season ends for me in two nights from now, this has been my first "ap season" , i started in November and have enjoyed it tremendously.
Not super many nights of clear sky so not many imaged objects, heres one of the best ones i managed during my first winter doing this.

I am still a freeware only person and once I got the hang of Siril, life was so easy.

I use Siril mostly for solar astrophotography now. It was really a game changer and my solar astrophotography improved by leaps and bounds. Solar astrophotography is what I mostly do now. I am looking forward to more solar activity this year.

For me, it was definitely the TSO in April. What a journey and experience!

For me it would have to be seeing with the naked eye and capturing the aurora Australis on camera top of the list

Close second would have to be jumping straight into the deep end by getting my first cooled Astro camera that happened to be mono and taking on the fighting dragons of ara in SHO as my first project with it
