I got my money back by opening a dispute in Paypal and even there the owner of AstroArt store didn't respond and just ignored it so Paypal gave me a full refund for the purchase. If anyone of you paid trough Paypal I recommend opening a dispute if you are eligible for purchase protection.

I have cancelled my order and they should (according to their conditions) return the money within two weeks. That was 6 weeks ago …
I keep getting apologies and 'we are on it now' and 'we will sort things out this week' etc. Also messages on Jukka ( the CEO) being quite ill.

I am rallying up a lawyer now, forcing them to return my money and if necessary I am willing to go a long way to get it. Also because it is ridiculous that this happens and I want to help prevent others to fall for the same scam we have.

I have spent some time on their Discord server in the last few weeks. Now it seems like they have shut it down. It no longer exists

There were some activity over there. Occasionaly, someone would come in and delete any messages containing criticism of the store posted by the poor customers.

For a time there was a post about the the owner suffering from a tumour in his liver. And, also, that they were extremely busy with expanding their business to Sweden, Greece and a second office in Finland. This post, made by themselves, was soon deleted, also by themselves.

Is there any truth to any of their claims?

HOw did you go about cancelling your order? Simply sending them an email stating that you would like to have the order cancelled?

It sounds like they might owe you more than the the around 1700 EUR that I have sent to them?

I sent them mails until they responded. Also per insta and messenger. Received apologies and that they would honor the reimbursement and that one of them was very ill. Sent them tens of mails to remind them and got the same kind of responses. This has been going on for weeks. Now I am ready to meet them in court. They owe me just short of € 3000.

No luck using paypal to get themoney back? i know several people have had luck doing so, as Paypal attempts to contact the seller and if they receive no reply, they just force refund.
In Norway, if a company reaches insolvency and cant pay or deliver on what they owe, a person can file an injunction for the local court to declare the company bankrupt/insolvent.

Just got this mail:

Hello.
We are sorry if your case has not been resolved yet. We apology for the lack of communication, it has been truly hard year for us. We are working hard to get us back on track with emails. We are working tirelessly to address the backlog and are committed to delivering all orders on time while clearing any remaining issues by January and February. Your order will also be fulfilled in January or February. We hold ourselves to high standards of customer service and support. It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the challenges faced over the past year and the ways they have affected you as our valued customer. Our team have faced significant difficulties in our personal lives. While these struggles should never have impacted your experience with us, they unfortunately have.

The end of the year is a time for reflection, and looking back, we see just how much has happened. ·       The economic downturn at the end of 2023 hit us all hard. Rising costs of living and energy forced us to make difficult decisions, including reducing our staff. ·       Despite these efforts, unforeseen personal challenges further compounded the situation. In January 2024, Jukka had to step away from operational duties as hes son’s medication caused severe reactions, requiring significant care and attention.·       At the same time, we were setting up operations in Sweden, but difficulties pushed the launch back. Nils became severely ill with COVID-19 during the office move, further delaying progress. ·       2024 fall Jukka fell ill with mycoplasma, and during medical examinations, a liver tumor was discovered. ·       These events created challenges that impacted your experience with us. We made mistakes believing we could handle everything on our own and not acting sooner to address operational issues. We have learned from these experiences, made significant changes, and are steadily getting back on track. We are making more changes and establishing a Community-Driven Future for AstroArt. AstroArt was born from the passion and dedication of the astronomy community. During these challenging times, we believe the best way forward is to give back to the community that made us what we are today. I would gladly invite you to join our effort. We are establishing a Customer Board of Directors. This board will have full access to our company’s operations and details, and its members will play a key role in guiding us through 2025 as we rebuild and refocus. Your insights and ideas will help us, ensuring AstroArt becomes a truly communal company that serves everyone better. We’ve also made significant progress in other areas, for the interested we can share our vision and our progress of fulfilling our dream of the European Astronomy future. For those who are interested in shaping AstroArt’s future eaven more, we are offering investor opportunities. Past 2 years we have strengthened our young company and structure with 6 investors and new board members. We would like you to join us and become part of the AstroArt Family. Joining us as an investor will give you great benefits and weld you to our success story. It helps strengthen our foundation for growth and innovation. Let’s turn these challenges into a success story that we can all be proud of. My dream has always been a company built for the community, by the community. If you’d like to join the Customer Board of Directors or learn more about investor opportunities, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Best regards,AstroArt-Team

Finally after 4 months I have my refund. The only way it worked for me was to open a case in paypal (which was my payment method). Few days later it was resolved in my favor.

At the end of December, with the help of my bank (and visa), I got my money back via chargeback. The discord server still regularly deletes messages from dissatisfied customers who are waiting for the goods.

Ah, so the Discord server still exists? Have they posted anything of substance there recently?

I was on that server last year. Astroart sent me a DM  about a month ago, asking me for my order numbers, I did provide those. No response on that, instead  I was kicked out of the server and can no longer see it at all.

I must say, the customer support experience is somewhat lacking, I find, personally.

Getting your money back if you did use your credit card, paypal or anything like that seems quite trivial. It's worse for us who did use a regular ole bank transfer.

I first made two purchases, I recieved part of the first order as well as the entirety of the second order almost immediately.  I then went ahead to make the third purchase, for some reason using the same payment method again did not work, so I was stupid enough to use bank transfer.

I was easily able to get my money back for the first order.

But in order to get the money back from the order is much more difficult, or impossible. I would need to get the police involved.

There were some talk from some people of speaking to the authorities? Have you had any succes with that? If so, I might try going that route as well.

Doubt anyone with anything positive to say still has a membership in their discord, people saying anything negative have been yeeted out of there very fast.

If you have ordered from them with a large sum of money, I would look into the posibility of opening up bankrupcy against them, but this would require a few steps and likely take a long time, and you might not even get anything and it might cost you money to conduct...

Well, sure, but it seemed for a moment like it was the only place where you could see any signal of life at all from them. Not only the cleaning up, but they posted a few message there, and even deleted one of their own posts...

I see. It is not that large of a sum, around 2000 EUR. I could just move on , lesson learned, but it would be nice to get my money back...

Talking to my bank, they mentioned that I would need to talk to the police.

2000 EUR is atleast to me a significant sum of money worth pursuing

Nils tried to call me one time before christmas, unfortunately I was unavailable at the moment and could not answer.  I have spent the last two months trying to get in contact with him. No answers to calls, text or emails.

I had some interaction with Jukka on Discord a few weeks ago, but that has turned into complete silence as well.

I have just had the 2.300,- Euros back form Paypal I paid for an Askar 140 Apo back in December because the seller, who promised delivery in mid January, first of all didn't deliver the scope but also didn't reply when requested about the order, delivery time etc.

Luckily I paid with PayPal and was covered by their byer protection.
