Wow. My wife and I love the Pensacola area. We usually venture that way to watch a Blue Angels practice then return to Orange Beach. In fact, my first light for my first telescope was from the balcony of a Phoenix condo about six months ago looking out over the ocean. Wonderful memory. We just got about 4 inches here in Knoxville and have been itching to get back down to the gulf when it warms up a little. Guess we’ll be waiting a little longer!

Allen Smith:
out over the ocean

Gulf of America Know the Phoenix properties well. Kept a boat in OB for years, and of course... Flora-Bama. How were the night sky conditions looking south over the gulf? I've been thinking it should be good seeing.

Good luck with that, lol.  Staying in the 60's in Fort Myers next week!

Enjoy it while it lasts. It is the South. It'll all be gone in a day or two. You have highs in the 50s two days later!

Seeing was better than I expected looking over the gulf. Hope to head toward Fort Morgan next time for a darker site.

Wound up with 7.5 inches total and it held well for two days. The last of it melted by yesterday evening.

My sago palms are turning yellow. Shame, because they had such pristine fronds. Broke a 125 year record.
