So far we have 27 people signed up to this Forum which is great. I have given 21 of you access to my DropBox folder for capturing the Jupiter images next year. There is a sub-folder for each date of capture and remember that will be based on UT. I have also asked those to whom I've given access to put an image into the "TEST" folder to make sure they it is working for them. It seems everyone has successfully been able to do that so far.
Could I ask the 6 people who have not gotten back to me with their email address to please do so. Once again my email address is [email protected].
I have given 26 people access to the DropBox, so the difference represents some recruits, external to AstroBin, whom I have been able to secure. I contacted Chris Go and he is willing to help, although he is already committed to a similar project with the Swedish Group that carried this exercise once before. I have also been able to secure the help of Anthony Wesley, Trevor Barry and Phil Miles from Australia. This is important as up to now I am the only person from this side of the globe. I would dearly like to locate some other imagers in Asia Pac besides Chris as well as Africa. If you know of anyone, could you ask them to contact me or give me their contact details.
Based on my previous proposal for a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) I have written an up to date version in a word document. I will publish it by email to those who have given me their address and effectively therefore, everyone who is signed up to have the DropBox access. I don't think I can upload it here.
The procedure is mostly advisory, that is it details an approach to capture and processing largely based on my own experience. Of course, you are all highly competent imagers who will probably want to continue to use your own methodologies, nevertheless, it gives a basic overall approach for reference and the feedback I've has so far is that it largely marries up with what others are doing. There are however some elements that are important to mandate so as to make the final compilation work easier, such as image size, orientation and the WinJUPOS file naming convention.
Thanks & regards, Niall
