Hi there,

I've always found AB's implementation of jumping to new posts in a topic counterintuitive.
Why would I want to read the OP if I visited said topic prior? Instead I have to wait for the white pop-up and click the link inside.

What is the idea behind this implementation?

Where is the harm in jumping directly to unread posts when clicking on a topic. This could default to the OP if a user never visited the topic before.

Interesting consideration, I'll have to consider the implication of changing the default behavior.

The idea at this time is that you'd click on the button to go the first unread post:

A lot of long standing forum platforms have the same concept, clicking the topic title always shows the OP.
Some with a small "new" button next to the title or like you've shown a direct link to the new post.

Since I've been using the Discourse-platform in some communities, I realized how unnecessary this is. Discourse will load the first unread post when clicking on a topic title. It makes browsing forums much more convenient.

Thanks for your consideration.
