Hello everyone, does anyone know why astrobin can't do the advanced astrometric reduction of the Abell 1367 galaxy cluster ? Unless I'm mistaken, no uploaded photos in Astrobin, have the advanced astrometric reduction, it stops at the basic resolution, while the Abell 1656 galaxy cluster benefits from the advanced astrometric reduction.

Hi @Patrick! Seems like your very own image of that cluster did get solved by PixInsight ![]() I can imagine tho that galaxy clusters might throw off the algorithm which is based on star detection, and some galaxy cores might be detected as stars. In the near future I will deploy the newest version of PixInsight to the AstroBin network, which is supposedly more robust and has a higher success rate, so we'll see if it helps! |

Salvatore, thanks for your reply, but in my photo, it's only the basic reduction of Pixinsight, the advanced reduction normally appears by clicking a second time on the image and in notification "unfortunately Astrobin was unable to perform the advanced astrometric reduction of your Abell 1367 image" (image on private area) and i think it must be the same on all images uploaded to Astrobin by Abell 1367. But i will see with the new version.
