Hey guys, I wanna have those really nice acquisition details (100x60' R, 50x60'G) in my images, but I can't quite figure out the best source. Does Pixinsight produce a nice CSV when it is complete? Do you use Nina? I have been having to dump some subs due to equipment issues, so if I use something from Nina, it will have subs that I threw out. I haven't found where in Pixnisight WBPP it outputs an acquisition CSV. Or do you all do it manually? Thanks! |

I just look at the respective folder on my drive, the number of files are listed there.

Michael: I create CSV files manually in Microsoft Excel. Works well once you figure it out. Ben |

Also, the log from WBPP should show the amount of files stacked per channel.

I use an Excel spreadsheet to document all my captured DSO subs. The spreadsheet columns reflect both the actual number of subs in their separate filters and another set of columns reflecting the subs that made the cut for posting. Each row has the date of the acquisition & calculations of total subs with the corresponding time along with the percentage of good subs. Eventually, I'll set it up in the format that AstroBin requires for uploading.

Lately I’ve been working on large mosaics spanning many nights, and try to figure out the acquisition details was proving to be too much of a pain to enter manually. I do like having all the details I put, so I ended up writing a program that walks the directory where I keep a target’s lights and it reads the header of any fit or xisf files it finds to figure out the filter type, exposure, binning, temp, etc. It then generate a csv file that I can upload to astrobin. One tricky part of using csv files is that the filters are identified using unique IDs. You need to go to the equipment page for each of the filters you use and you can get the ID from the URL of that filters equipment page. |
