Hello,

I may have missed this functionality, but I do think it is high time that astrobin have a batch upload capability.

Or failing that a way to save content profiles (just like there are equipment profiles that can be saved).

The sun is extremely active right now - giving lots of targets for closeup images.  Right now, if you want to upload images of that, you have to populate the (mandatory) content profile for each image, and then upload each image.  For each closeup target…!

That is incredibly inefficient.  It strikes me that if you could batch upload, you could then just populate the content profile once for that session and then batch upload the different closeups.

Or, if content profiles are pre-loaded, then upload images individually - not ideal but still more efficient.

The current methods are just painful.  Flickr, Picasa, Instagram etc etc all have batch upload capabilities for images.  Isn't it high time for Astrobin?

And ofc my apologies if there is already this capability and I've just missed it!

Thanks

Hi Leela,

I agree on form presets (already exists for equipment, and for acquisitions you can click on "Copy from another image", but not for the rest of the items in the form.

I'm not so sure that batch upload is a good idea: it would encourage dumping a lot of images with no data associated to them, which has very little value to the community.

In any case, a complete form preset is already on the road map!

Thanks Salvatore, good to hear a complete preset capability is coming: the equipment and acquisition profiles help but having to manually populate the mandatory content profile each time is a huge bottleneck for lucky imagers of complex fast-changing targets (also the "copy from another image" doesn't really help b/c it only relates to acquisition details which will ofc vary from lucky image to lucky image anyway).

Hope the preset change on the road map makes things much smoother!

Cheers
