I don't know if this topic has been discussed previously or if similar proposals have been made.

Since the Astrobin community is large and people from many countries participate, it would be great if the portal had an option for users to choose the language they would like to read (as I've seen on some portals).

The options would be in the most popular or numerous languages ​​currently available. In addition to English, there would also be options for Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, and Japanese, to name a few. (I have no idea which language is most prevalent here on Astrobin and their proportion.)

I don't know if this is feasible or how complicated its implementation might be.

I think this would give the site even more visibility in every way.

It's happened to me several times that when I send the link to my friends and relatives, they complain because it's in English… and they don't understand what's posted there because they're either Italian or speak Spanish…

Is just an idea.
What do you think, Salvatore and others?

Hi Salvatore, I just realize  that in the main page, beside the bell of notifications there is the language option...

That was the idea I had....sorry for this, I missed completely, but I wonder why the text in the description part do not get translate, while all the settings of the page are translate.

But your idea of the translate button is great, maybe can be put that choice beside the 'description' so the text bellow get translate?  Then people do not need as I saw several times to put a text in their native language and then other in English in the description.

Besides the platform language that you found (which translates the AstroBin interface like menus, labels, page title, etc), there is a Translate button for forums, comments, and image descriptions.

The button is shown when the language of the content is detected to be different than the language you selected for AstroBin.

However there's a caveat: short messages sometimes don't detect correctly, so it's not 100% reliable.

I think that have the button translation up all time beside the description label or in the bottom of the text maybe is more practical and intuitive for the user. 

The translate button for  forums and comments,  I just notice when you showed me here  (as I have english, italian and spanish as language chosen, do not showed up to me most of the time.)

Now I got a short description in french from a member I follow and the translation button did not showed up.  If the member did not chose a language I guess the translation button do not appear?  Or is maybe because I am still on the old browser Astrobin view?

I have to check this for get the effect to the new gallery?  How I sort the collections after and witch image go in each?

Correct. Translations of image descriptions are only available on the new gallery experience.

No, it's further down, last entry in the form: "Enable new gallery experience". The checkbox you indicated controls how you see your staging area images: separate sections or together with the public images.

Other people don't see your staging area in any case.
