Hi Klaus, what do you want to tell us with your post. It listens like 74 members of the IOTD team have the wrong taste and no capability to pic out the correct pics for the process, but you have. I am the opinion you can not accept the rules and the purpose of the IOTD. It is to show the most stunning results taken by amateurs without regarding the effort, the circumstances, the equipment and the skills of the fotographer. Further on, Astrobin is a social platform for showing astropics, communication, sharing information, finding friends. It is not a platform for assesing the value of your astrofotographical work. Hi Christoph, critics on IOTD judges is allowed and necessary to ensure objective judgement. If you cannot stand it, feel free to leave this board. Everyone can be replaced. I pay 65 Euro per year for this. And I will always open my mouth, if I want it!!! Klaus |

AstroStew: Hi, site owner here. Because I don't think it's a good idea to delete comments that critique AstroBin. It will look like censorship. My job is to address critique, and I have responded to such so many times. These specific complaints are covered in the FAQ too, as it's something that comes up often. As you can see by responses by other people here, the majority of the community understands now the reasons why the IOTD/TP is not split in categories, probably thanks to a lot of past posts, and the FAQ. A vocal minority of hardcore opponents remain, but I don't think I should remove their voice. Please keep in mind that these posts are relegated to the group AstroBin Platform open discussions community forum that is not mandatory to join. People not in the group don't see such posts in the "Recent topics" list. @kv54, all I can do is invite you gently to stop complaining. Your opinion has been heard and answered. Repeated posts about this subject is really not doing anything positive. Thanks! |

AstroStew: as tempting as it is to respond to the constant complaining, sometimes it is best to ignore it, especially if it is the same person doing it. You have to realize that you cannot satisfy everyone. There will always be discontents. For what it is worth, I have done my fair share of complaining, but there is far more good here than bad. |

Please let me repeat it: you are on a forum called "AstroBin Platform open discussions community forum", so people will discuss about AstroBin features, and sometimes complain about something they don't like. This forum is optional, you joined the group and this is why you see these posts. I am not going to moderate away posts with complaints, I don't think that's the right thing to do. |

The initial question did not prompt a technical discussion on the feasibility of this idea, as I believe the original poster intended, and in any case this idea is not aligned with the AstroBin roadmap and ideology.
