Hi,

Please forgive me if someone already asked this question.

I do images with stars and starless. The stars cover some details which are better visible in the starless revision. Unfortunately, the starless revision cannot be displayed with a high quality, it looks like JPEG in comparison to TIFF (I assume it's just a preview). To make the details more visible I had to set the starless revision as default.  Did I miss something and is there any feature to display the pictures with the higher quality or is it intended? BTW, I made a mistake and typed 59 as a number of bias frames instead of 60. How to change it?

I usually upload my main image first (with stars) then just go to upload new revision, upload starless but don't mark it as final. You can also set on hover to display revision two (starless). They are both fine quality. Take a look here. As for number on frames, when you are on your image, go to Edit > Acquisition details and just update number of frames

Edit: Just saw your gallery, on hover starless images look fine to me

Sorry, you didn't understand me. Look at the details in your picture when you click on the main image window and another click to zoom it. And later go to the Revisions and zoom any of your pictures - it's not the same quality.

I don't mean the main window displaying the final revision.

Ah I see. Didn't notice up until now because I never zoomed in on a revision before. Good find. But there is a work around. So my main revision is L, and link to that image is https://www.astrobin.com/n22w09/L/ so just update that L parameter to whichever revision you want to see in high-res, for example https://www.astrobin.com/n22w09/K/

I already set the starless as the final revision to reach this effect. Only this way one can see a high-detailed view of the nebulosity (as much as the Askar FMA230 allows for smile ). Stars are stars, they are less interesting for me.

I've just noticed this too. It's rather disappointing. When clicking on a previous revision, the slideshow mode pops up. Zooming in on that revision shows bad compression artifacts (smeared and splotchy detail) which are not present in the full sized image. The only way to see the true, uncorrupted detail of the original upload is to click the pop-out link (top left in the slideshow view) to the individual image page and then clicking to load the full original image. I would prefer that the zoom-in function in the slideshow mode either loaded a high quality image (a la click and drag) or else was disabled entirely.

thanks for reporting! Yes indeed, it looks like the slideshow mode is not loading the most appropriate resolution.
