Hello and welcome, I'd like to ask questions and reach out to anyone using the Seastar with the Skywatcher Staradventurer Wedge to set up the Seastar Into Polar aligned when using it in EQ Mode.
I know I asked something relevant before, but I want to know more about the usage of how you guys set up this smart telescope, polar aligned with this wedge, if you guys have one.
Ever since the EQ mode was introduced, I have struggled from the start when I tried out its polar alignment. After the first try, I was successful, but I don't know how, cause I was just guessing, and after this point, I started to be very upset and frustrated about how I could achieve a quick polar alignment. I want to see more details from every DSO I capture, especially with the EQ mode, but like this. I've been struggling every night to achieve it, and I wish that it would be smoother than time-consuming, cause it's taken 2 or 3 hours from my time, and I want to spare time for observing rather than setting this whole thing to polar aligned. The only thing I can do right is the azimuth settings, which are pretty simple to do.
And the thing im struggling with is the altitude setting. And this is my online problem cause the wedge itself only allows me to go between 40 and 50 degrees. Because when the wedge hits 0 this the point when you cant go further however this where the most of the problems comes if I rotate the altitude knob backwards I getting more numbers. And this is the point where I would give up. If only there were an option to help the polar alignment, I would be good, but like this, im getting more and more upset and frustrated.
So my question is:
After im set the current altitude and the position of the scope because a new update was released not so long ago.
What's the next move? I tried to move the whole tripod to left and right, but it didn't. worked.
I also tried to extend the tripod legs. It kinda works, but not really.
So then what's next? How do you set up all this?
Do I try different positions like rotating the wedge to northeast or northwest, or southeast, or southwest? And make the scope look towards the zenith.
I noticed, though, that when it's facing the zenith, the azimuth gonna hit 0 degrees. And I liked to avoid getting this, not moving further away.
So, guys, is there anything I can help the altitude go down further? Because im stuck at 50 and 40 degrees.
What do you guys do at this point? Any tips?WIsh ZWO could change the EQ Mode a bit further by adding helpful utilities or anything that can help the polar alignment. Seastar deserves more than a simple EQ setting; it's time-consuming.
