Hello, A few days ago my EFW broke in my remote observatory and I kept getting the error: "Initialization failed. The carousel is slipping or blocked there is a possibility that the space between motor shaft/stalk and carousel might too loose or too tight, or the O-ring is damaged, o the ventral fixing screw of the carousel is too tight." I made the journey to my observatory and unmounted the filter wheel and connected it to my computer using ASIStudio and got the same message when trying to calibrate it. I opened the EFW and adjusted the center locking screw to both be looser (which didn't work) and to tighten it, nothing worked. I tried adjusting the spacing between the motor pin and the O-ring but that didn't help either. I then marked the position of the motor pin and tried running the EFW and realized that the motor is not even spinning anymore. I hear a buzzing noise as if it is being engaged but the pin does not rotate. Anyone encountered anything similar or do I have to go and buy a new EFW? Video Link [Imgur] |
