Hi guys! I have tilt on my asi 2600 mc pro! I've been trying to fix but i get confused quickly with what i'm looking at! i use hocus focus in NINA for this and it gives me a very good analysis but looking at an image on my screen confuses me as to which side is up on my camera! which screw should i adjust everytime? when i'm looking at the camera from the back which side is left and right compared to the image i took? I might be overthinking this but i am so confused! any help appreciated! thank you!

I don't know the answer to your question, but what you can do is induce exaggerated tilt on one side and look at the image. It will show you what happens with tilt in one direction. From that you should be able to deduce the appropriate setting needed to correct the tilt on your original image. I hope this helps. LMK if you need more clarification.

Hi Melanos,

Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but this is what I use to orient my camera according to what I plan in Stellarium.  Seems to work well.

Best,
Greg

[pre=tw-data-text tw-text-large tw-ta]=Y2IQFcHello, are you sure it's coming from the camera? Or are any connectors or components slanted? BR and CS Hampo[/pre]

Unfortunately it depends on what scope you have and how many mirrors are involved, each flipping the image. The only way to find out is by experimentation I'm afraid. Have a look at this video from 29 minutes onwards. It addresses some of these issues, albeit maybe not with the same tilter that you have.

Point to a distant object such as a tree, building, during daytime, don’t point to the sun.

move the scope up and down, left and right.

Watch in which direction the object moves on the screen.

IMX571's first line is bottom and it s read from bottom to top, AFAIK, and left to right. Most software would flip it so the [1,1] pixel is now to the top left corner in the image.

Hi, I had the same question, I think I second Jon answer above. You have to take an assumption and try a first adjustment redo hocus focus and see it it was the right assumption or if you have to reverse. You have two parameters up/down left/right, you have to check if what you did as a first adjustement is improving in each direction and continue or reverse. I would had that if at any time you plan to clean the sensor window and decide to remove the tilt plate you better mark with a tape or whatever the position of the tilt plate to be sure to remount it in the exact same position to keep your orientation.
