My AM3 mount in remote connects normally with ASI Studio, like the other devices (camera, focuser, filter wheel…) But how to have it slew to a specific object in the sky ? There is no way to do it with ASI Studio. There are many good softwares and planetariums, but all of them use ASCOM drivers. For some reason, my ASCOM Platform has defects and does not permit the use of the ZWO ASCOM drivers. Updating the ASCOM Platform is possible only if the current Platform works normally ! So, I cannot remove it nor update it. Welcome to the absurd digital world… Apart from putting my computer to the garbage, I wonder if someone could suggest a solution permitting to control the mount without ASCOM drivers. Philippe |

Hi Philippe, Have you resolve your issue with ASCOM drivers? I think all astronomycal gear needs ASCOM platform to connect to PC. It's really weird you couldn't reinstall ASCOM. Alternatives are trying astroberry ( raspberry hardware) or ASI Air. Good luck. |

Since ASIAIR normally doesn't run on anything but a phone or a tablet I think that's kind cool. Glad you found a solution. There should be a solution to your ASCOM problem though. still, it might be a good excuse to to spring for an ASIAIR or a mini-PC.
