Hi, I want to acquire a focal reducer (the "opposite" of a Barlow) for my TOA-150. Something in the range of 0.33x or 0.5x. At least so that I can image the Sun and the Moon full-disc (1/2 degree) with my ZWO ASI585 camera (i.e. 0.5x reducer). Can anyone recommend one of good quality? What do you use? Any hint is appreciated. Best regards, Niels |

I expect you know Takahashi only make a 0.7x corrector, don't you?

Yes. That's why I'm asking what other high-quality options are available? Best regards, Niels |

Why not take advantage of better native resolution and just do mosaics?

N Foldager: In short: none that I'm aware would give that kind of reduction and I'm pretty sure any non-tailored options would give terrible results. Incidentally it is way cheaper buying a DSLR and sticking it to the focuser than buying any high end Taka gear, if the purpose is to take pictures of the Moon/Sun. |
