Kaptas Attila: I am using the 268 mono APSC With this camera you do not use the QHY Dovetail adapter 020002, so you will need to account for the Octopi, which will use 3.5mm on the QHY wheel.
In this case i need 56.9-3.5 mm BF which is 53,4 mm right? Incl Filters.

Daniel Carter:
Kaptas Attila: Hi Guys. I was informed that from the corrector on i have a BF of 56.2 and octopi didnt use any BF. Are they wrong by Takahashi Europe? I dont think so! normaly camera need 17.5 and adapters from m48 to 54 needs 1 mm and FW need 21 in this case there is enoug space for an oag! Am i wrong that qgy600 also 17.5 mm BF have? cheers The Octopi takes up a minimum of 3mm (maybe a little over with powder coating) if you are using the version designed to interface with the Indigo otherwise its 3.5mm with the rim for the QHY filter wheel.
Here is my designed setup: QHY600 SBFL 12.5 mm Octopi 4.5 mm Indigo EFW 19.0 mm Filter Offset -0.33 mm (Astronomik MaxFR filters are 1mm thick) QHY OAG 10.0 mm QHY M54 Adapter 3.0 mm PP Adapter 7.5 mm TOTAL: 56.17 mm Required BF 56.2 mm
If you do use the regular QHY600 with 17.5 mm back focus, you can change the adapter length between the corrector and your OAG (if you are using one) to adjust for that extra 5mm of spacing. I have 1.5mm of back focus adjustment inwards on the Octopi in this design so hopefully I won't need that much going inwards.
Hope this helps! According to Gerd the filter is actually 1.1mm thick. So, 0.367mm of BF for the filter.

According to Gerd the filter is actually 1.1mm thick. So, 0.367mm of BF for the filter. Thats good to know! This whole time (with my APS-C setup and my new QHY600 rig) I have been using 1mm as the thickness. Thanks for letting me know the correct thickness @Bill Long! Thankfully the change is small (that changes the offset from 0.33 to 0.37 so its not too bad of a change for slower scopes).

Friends, can someone just let me know if the original TAK tube rings may be connected to a traditional losmandy dovetail ? Otherwise, would be kind enough to advise about a brand, model, etc. (tube rings, etc.). Cheers, Aygen

They are the TB014 rings that are 204mm. I also got their dovetail but I think that their pattern may work with other brands.

Cheers, Aygen I have set of Parallax rings http://www.parallaxinstruments.com/rings.html They are decent enough rings for the price. Nothing to get excited about, they are just rings. I would say if you are in the US, go with Parallax otherwise the Primalucelab or Lacerta just to avoid international shipping issues & costs. Also keep in mind that losmandy style plates come in two different bolt patterns and threads - SAE (inches) and metric so you want make sure your rings and plate match

I should add that Parallax are custom orders (you have to tell them the specs you want for the mounting bolt holes) and may take longer to get as they are not "in stock". Mine took 2 weeks to ship.

I bought factory Takahashi rings for my 160 from First Light Optics in the UK. Arrived 2 or three days later to USA and was about $200 cheaper than domestically sourced. I bought this dovetail for the rings, https://optcorp.com/products/adm-d-series-universal-dovetail-bar-for-large-takahashiThe dovetail is well made but the one I received looked like it had been dropped down a set of concrete steps. I didn't send it back since it was mostly cosmetic damage and I didn't want to wait who knows how long for a replacement. Dan

I got a nice present when I got home last night - my Optec LEO was on my porch! I got notification today that my Oiii filter from Astronomik will be delivered today from FedEx.
I really want to go home tonight and get that LEO on the 160 and get some images. However, I have to play adult and pack for our Disney trip. We are going to Disneyworld Saturday for 9 days for the kid's fall break. I have to wait until I get back to play with the new toys. Its a shame since the past week has been absolutely clear at night. The seeing has been really poor here in north Alabama due to Hurricane Ian ravaging Florida. The upper atmosphere has been a wavy soup the past 3 nights. However, tonight is forecasted to have better seeing (according to Astrospheric).

I was going to print out Bill's instructions and have them there with me when installing the Optec. I would rather go through it slowly once and get it right then having to redo it or have issues later on.

I feel a bit "lucky" since Takahashi Europe will take care of the LEO as well as the collimation. As for this latter, I will be doing it with them while picking up the bananas in a few weeks.... I want to feel confortable enough should I need to do it by my own (which for sure I will...) BTW, once you are ready to fire, do not forget to share your first lights !

This is expected and it is because the Leo uses a homing switch and always has absolute positioning. In the Commander software, select TCF Leo, and I personally select the high speed mode over the high torque mode.

@Bill Longwhat is the different btw high speed and high torque? i could connect and controll yesterday after i saved the settings in the commander, now its should be okay. Today should be clear. I am excited. Now i have to take care about BF. @Chris White mentioned that Opitec takes 3.5 mm of BF it right? in this case i have to count 56.2plus 0.7 filters(2mm thickness) minus 3.5 mm for opitec makes 53.4.

You need to extend the focuser out a little bit. Just thread the focuser out a couple of mm. You are going to need to test spacing. It will be sensitive to 0.1mm of spacing.
