Hello and welcome. I'd like to ask everyone who uses Graxpert to do denoising in their astrophotos. Does anyone know what's wrong with Graxpert? When I try to run background extraction or denoising. An error message pops up and says, I should check the log. But I can't see it anywhere. How the hell can you overcome this? Does anyone know how to fix this? Is it related to my pc, or do I have to get a new version of the Graxpert? If there is a new version of it. https://imgur.com/gallery/mbl2FtN |

So there isn't a log file at the path location given in the error message?

Tony Gondola: So there isn't a log file at the path location given in the error message? There is, but it's hidden. The thing I don't understand is how to process a file in Graxpert like this. Every time I try to denoise or remove any gradient, the error is still there. These two issues are ruining the astrophotos you took. There's got to be a way to fix the error, right? Like, remove the log file or the data from the log file? I tried two different solutions: reinstalling Graxpert and re-processing the image, but it didn't work. Any idea how to overcome this?

Remove the program completely and do a fresh install, that sort of thing. Also, what file format are you feeding it? have you tried different formats or file sizes? Sort of that I really think this is a question for the developers, have you contacted them?

Are there any files that Graxpert can't process? Like JPG or maybe Tiff? If so, then I don't need to contact the devs because it is kinda of obvious.

Not sure why you'd ever want to feed it a jpg. I usually work with 16 bit fits and tif files without any issues on input or output.

I currently have an autosaved tiff that has 20-second exposure times of the comet Tsuchinshan Atlas. I did it in Deep Sky Stacker, and since u can't process 20-second exposure frames in Siril, I had no choice but to stick to it. What I noticed before was that Graxpert worked just fine with the saved picture file I did from Deep Sky Stacker. So I don't know if the files would be the case. But if so, then I don't need to get into contact with the devs.

Why can't you process 20 sec. sub exposures in Siril?

Tony Gondola: Why can't you process 20 sec? Sub-exposures in Siril? I don't know I just had that thought. But because the file I tried progress was wrong or something. When I did that, I saved manually a bunch of images that I converted into Tiff, but Siril failed to stack them.

Siril shouldn't have a problem stacking tiffs but it needs to convert them to fits first. How are you exactly going about this. Are you trying to manually stack or are you trying to use a script? If you are trying to run a script, make sure you select a folder as your home directory that has the following folders inside:
darks flats biases lights
All filled with the proper files of course. Siril will fail of you don't follow that basic convention.
