Hi. I'm interested in how users of this scope overcame issue of balancing the scope to avoid hitting tripod. With a skywatcher stock finder plus eyepiece around 300 g, I have to move scope upwards in rings, so back ring is 11 inches (about 27-28cm) from rear of scope to avoid impact, RA axis parallel to floor. But it's top heavy then, and would need about 4kg on back end to balance. I've seen videos of users of this scope on same mount and tripod, but they had large finders, in one case skywatcher 72ed attached between the rings. Looking at the ratio of back ring to total length, it looked like 11 inches. So, I wonder if the large finder was helping to balance in that case. Anyway I welcome your stories on this. Thanks |
