I recently converted my skywatcher az gti into eq mode, knowing that if I wanted to I could use it in az mode too, but when I went to use it in az mode tonight controls were weird and up was down and down was up, even the goto function got the azimuth right buu the altitude was wrong, as if the sky was upside down.

You need to remove the wedge to go back to AZ mode with home being level and north.

Hi, IMHO the EQ firmware changes the side of the pier. When I remember correctly in the original firmware the scope was on the right side and in the EQ it’s left. So when you rotate your tripod for 180 degrees, it should work.

You also have to swing back the scope back to north.

yeah but what do I do when I have to point it north to align it The home position is different when it is used in AltAz mode. It has to be level and pointing north (with no wedge). Whereas in EQ mode (with the wedge attached) it has to be pointing at the correct latitude and north or south depending where you live. Maybe thats the issue. When you connect as AltAz or EQ in Syncscan it assumes the correct home position with/without the wedge.

And you removed the EQ wedge? If there's still a problem maybe you have to reload the previous firmware.
