Hi Jerry,

If you use GHS with a b=-1.5, you get essentially the same stretch as the arcsinh.   If you use it with the "colour option", you can also control the star colour and get essentially the same result as the arcsinh stretch process.   It is the shape of the stretch that limits the individual colours from clipping. 

I find that the arcsinh or b<0 curves in GHS are also great for "final" brightening or dimming of an image, or if you want to dim or brighten an image temporarily for a specific process.   (then applying a invert stretch with the same parameters restores the original brightness).

Thanks, will keep this in mind on the next image.  GHS has more controls and fine tuning than ArcSinh.  The highlight protection (HP) in GHS avoids some of the extreme effects of ArcSinh.
