This is pretty much my workflow. I read through the thread and will be switching around the SCNR process (I don't always do SCNR, but when I do, it's for dual narrowband HOO/SHO renditions) [Insert meme here]. The only other thing I've started doing lately is adding an unsharp mask step on my starless image right before I merge the stars back into my starless. I find this really helps with bringing out some of the edges across some of the softer portions of the image. I don't use the defaults, btw. Definitely use the preview function and mess with the sliders to get the look you're trying to hit. |

Craig Dixon: Compare your image before and after applying NoiseXterminator, also by checking the histograms. Since new years I've been applying NXT after stretching because of this. The STF is over stretching things quite a bit anyway, but nxt done in the linear phase does seem to have implications on the histogram and bring out a whole lot of mottle in my experience. Doing it after stretching doesn't come with the same side effects. |

Don't use Background Neutralization before Color Correction. Use it after. If you use SPCC/PCC you can run BN within the process. Im curious, if you dont mind diving into this a little bit. It is my understanding that BGNeutralization should be run before color calibration so that if there is a bg color cast that is contributing to the target signal it is removed before calibrating target signal. Which would return a more balanced color calibration. The PI devs released this video that explains the methodology and logic: https://youtu.be/WYPVtmhXJYk?si=MvFIQKZrrdH2Mbor Genually curious to hear your thoughts on this. JB |

If you want to become a professional in astrophoto you shouldn`t use the blurxterminator, because after that it will be result of NN but not yours, and your picture will be an art, but not a real photo. If you want more details - accumulate more signal, but don`t use cheats like NN plugins. What? |

I have several changes I would recommend. This is close to what I do. I have gone over to the dark side and use BlurX. I could never get deconvolution to work well. I depend a lot on GHS. I have to try your CC for NB. In WBPP I do use the 1X drizzle option... get larger star counts consistently. |
