Hey guys. I had the same Issue about a month ago. Whenever I use Mosaic by coordinates I get a error called "null has no properties" and it cancles the process every time. I tried everything including reinstalling the newest version of pixinsight and the error is still there. Someone eles tried it and it worked flawlessly with the exact files I used. After a month of trying and it not working, I'm giving up and wanted to ask you guys for help. Can someone stitch these files for me and maybe send me the XIFS or Tiff file? I would be really greatfull if someone could help me stitch them quickly and maybe send it back with swisstransfer or wetransfer. https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/717b91b5-4734-4032-a883-bafe1155f23d |

andrea tasselli: Again? haha Yeah, i'ts me again. After the last threat I wanted to stitch like you guys did but it never turned out as clean as your version did so I basically gave up and shot another panel in the middle of the other two in the hopes that it will be cleaner. Before, I was able get the Mosaic by Coordinates script to work and got to the stitching step but now I can't even get the mosaic by coordinates to work at all. It seems like no one else has issues with it, only my computer seems to have problems. Even with the freshly downloaded and installed version of Pixinsight. That's why I gave up and wanted to ask you guys if you could help me. I don't need any editing done to it, literally only the stitching.

Sometimes if Pixinsight gives me issues with the merging I will use Photoshop photo merge. In average I have had much better luck with that at times; especially if bright stars lead to strange gradients
If I am only working on a 2-panel mosaic I will often just go straight to Photoshop

i said this on CN but it looks like OP may have used the batch mode of Imagesolver. you might try using it in view mode and see if there is any difference.

The images are perfectly plate-solved and have full WCS signature. The mystery remains on why the OP can't get this through. Besides, I have already provided the stitched up mosaic so that's done.

Besides, I have already provided the stitched up mosaic so that's done. well in the past there have bee. problems with the output of batch mode… not knowing what version of PI the OP is using it’s hard to know if that could have been the problem. i assumed you had resolved them.

andrea tasselli: Here you go: https://filebin.net/l3j77xykuvksoj7e You are a hero!! thank you sooo much, I just took a look at the file it looks great. Trust me I tried single and batch mode several times, I had more success with the batch mode. There is something in my system that is causing problems and I have yet to figure out what it is. I even made a thread on the pixinsight forum and couldn't get a proper answer. It kind of sucks but for now I'm really gald andrea could help me stitch the files. that's awesome!

It's a nice field you have there, Jens, and worth spending some time on to get it looking good.
I've had a go at your rho Oph Mol. Cloud images using my usual mosaic workflow and didn't find any issue. The resulting mosaic does seem to have an slight observable border between panes 1 & 3 to the right (east) of Antares, but this would disappear if you like a moderately dark background. I was able to reduce, but not eliminate this border by dialing down the Shrink Radius in GradMergMoz to 1 in Overlay mode, and found that Average mode didn't improve things. I tried to open your image, Andrea, to compare, but PI reports that it contains a virus and it spat the dummy and killed the file (it's not even in my Waste Basket!). You might like to check it out.
My work flow was: ABE->BackgndNeut->ColCalib (because I didn't know the prior processing history of these files, so this might have contributed to the above mentioned border), ImageSolver (I needed to set the date and time on these files for IS to work - 2024/07/10 20:00, 21:30, and 23:00) ->PCC->MozByCoord->dnaLinFit->GradMergMoz. Choosing a different reference pane in dnaLinFit made only a minor improvement, Pane 1 giving the best result.
If you'd like me to try without the ABE->BN->CC steps, please let me know. I hope this helps a little.
Paul.
OK, so sue me - I can't put a problem down without having a go at fixing it. I tried the images as supplied and started my workflow above at the IS step. GMM with a Shrink Radius of 5 gave a result with a barely perceptable boundary. With an SR of 1, it was much the same. It's a pity I can't access Andrea's result for comparison.

Thank you all so much for helping me with the mosaic making. I hope pauls files work, thank you for helping out too. I can't download the files because I need permission, but I really hope that it works after that. I'm currently editing the image, it's still work in progress but this is what I have so far Definetly need to tweak some things |

A very nice work-up of your image, Jens. I shot a similar field a week ago, and haven't achieved that degree of 'vivid-ness'. I shall have to go back to my mosaic and (more than) tweak it.
Keep at it, it's coming along very nicely.
Paul.
