I'm currently working on a set of SER files captured in Sharpcap (83 x 500 frame ser's, spanning about an hour of Solar) I've watched a few of the videos I could find out there in processing batches of files in Autostakkert and it appears fairly simple, however my process seems to stop after 3 SER's are processed. (even though 83 are selected) Has anyone tried this or seen a similar issue? So far AS has been great for single images, but I can't seem to get this to work. For reference, my PC specs are pretty extreme, so I wouldn't suspect any limitations there. (the 3 it processes are done in a couple minutes) thanks! |

Why would you want to do that? This is no DSO pre-processing. But, most importantly, which AS are we talking about?

Hey Nick, I ran into a similar issue the other day when trying to batch process (stack) a timelapse of ~100 SER files with Autostakkert 4. Funny thing was that the day before, AS4 was handling similar processes without an issue. I then tried the same batch in AS3, and everything worked fine. Guessing it’s a bug? |

I had this happen once. It seemed that it was hanging on a single SER file. I had to skip over that one file in the batch. There was something that autostakkert didn't like about it. Can't remember if I could do it solo. Pipp also has crashed on me before and I realize it doesn't like long file names. When file names were changed it had no problem processing hundreds of files. |

You could also try running it as an administrator. I remember having to do that when using AS3 for something. Haven't done a solar time-lapse in awhile so it might have been that.

Hi Nick - what version of AS! are you running? 4.0.11 is the latest. There are some similar sounding issues listed in the v4 bug fix list: Autostakkert change notes 4.0.8 Fixed bug causing cancelling of processing during buffering and analysis stage 4.04 Fixed not stacking batch processing surface recordings with find anchor set to True In the folder where AutoStakkert.exe lives there should be a subfolder 'debug_data' containing log.txt - maybe that can shed some light? |

Hi, Yes, you can just download the next version to a different folder name when you unzip it (because it runs directly from the unzipped folder and doesn’t truly “install” like a windows application) |

Make sure the files aren't still open in some other app. Apps can open files for "exclusive access only". So if another app tries to open it the O/S will say "nope!". A reboot will also clear that. I can't think what else might cause that issue. Regards, Ed. |
