I am thinking of adding a rotator to my C11 similar to my RedCat91 WIFD in which I use a Pegasus Falcon2 rotator. I know it is very difficult to see the C11 optical train with all the cables, but I would think the rotator should be installed in front of the OAG, so it is: Camera - FW - OAG - Rotator - scope, and using spacers to get me to the 147.05 +/- mm backfocus. I will have enough clearance so that the rotating OAG guide camera will not bump into the piggybacked RedCat. Of course, I will have to rearrange the cables, which is easier said than done. Am I missing any obstacles/steps?
I'm still contemplating whether a rotator is even worth it for this setup as I mostly image small PN objects in which rotation really isn't necessary. And while you can manually rotate the OAG, that isn't an option for me with my scope way up in the observatory.
I'd appreciate any feedback from experienced users.
