Poor starfield. Askar 0.6x reducer for 103 APO · Konstantin · ... · 4 · 137 · 4

When i get pinpoint stars at the center of the field, i get such a poor covering of the stars in the corners, I am using a full frame sensor canon EOS R6. Imaging the Western Veil nebula for context. The image is a stack of 109 x 60 seconds, so there is a little star trailing, but inconsequential to the corners. Anything i can do to improve the image quality across the field with this reducer? Perhaps i thought the spacing between the camera and the reducer is too close rather than the camera with respect to the primary lens. Not sure. Help would be appreciated.

I suspect that you are right ... the spacing needs to be precisely 55mm from the mounting ring on the reducer to the sensor of the camera.   You can calculate this from the specs on the camera and compare to the spec.  See this link for a detailed sketch https://www.sharpstar-optics.com/Products_1/82.html#saf-detail-0

I see wrong backfocus (sensor too close), out of focus overall and top to bottom sensor tilt. I would get correct center focus first, then add perhaps 1mm back focus and lastly work on tilt if any left. image.png
