Hi all,

I have a Celestron 80AZS scope, and tried several times to get a pic of Jupiter without success.

Tried with a Neximage 5 (see attached Image, this one is from today) Using resolution of 640x480, no good at all. 
this was a one minute video aligned with PIPP and then stacked with Registax.


I also tried afocal with an Iphone, but I only can see a brigth dot (and CAN see the moons) if I change the exposure, the moons are gone but Jupiter is still a bright dot.

using only the EP's I can see Jupiter belts and moons.

Any suggestions?

Hi. Why is your post full of links to AstronomyForums? Looks like you posted there first and then copied the post, and they automatically add links to their wiki for SEO reason. Pretty shitty of them to pester the users with a poor UI (who wants to see all those links?) just to cheat on Google search ranks.

Anyway, next time could you please copy your original text before you post there? That way the links won't show up.

Sorry about the off-topic and the rant. (Yeah, I'm a bit bitter towards AstronomyForums because soon after AstroBin launched, they decided to ban all links to AstroBin on their forums. IMHO that's symptomatic of a pretty shitty governance.)

EDIT: I removed the links, I couldn't stand them. PS: if you link to an attachment there, it won't work here, because they are private, i.e. only visible after you log in.

Your probably best using your Neximage 5 instead of an iPhone. I can't see the attached photo so I can't give very specific details, but I can say that the Moon images I've taken usually require less sharpening than Jupiter images.
