Hello,

I have a series of comet files that I would like to process, taken in CR3 Raw format. To avoid too much trouble calibrating, I applied profile corrections in Adobe Lightroom and converted to TIFF. However, PI's comet alignment routine does not accept these files as it seems to be looking for the Date and observation time header in FITS format. Is there a way around this? I realize I can start with RAW files (which I did for other comets in the past), but that would require me to calibrate at a minimum with flats to correct the vignetting.

You can always insert the time stamp in the files once converted into fits format. I appreciate it might be cumbersome for large numbers of files.

Thanks, Andrea. I knew that was an option. I have 60 files though. Probably easier to go the raw route.

There is a script "BatchFITSKeywordEdit" from Mike Cranfield. I have not used it, so I cannot tell you if this will work for your files. But maybe you can have a look.
