It's a meteor with some light flairs because of the brightness, really cool!

The flares are there because of wind shear moving the evaporating particles away from the main meteor path. A VERY lucky strike, that.

andrea tasselli: Yup. Nice. I have seen those lingering "vapors" with binoculars a couple times from a dark site. They are pretty cool and often twist and turn for seconds or even minutes in the high altitude winds. |
