and am really happy with it! Amazing service and a really well built shed that got delivered fully assembled. They also built a concrete pad and a 5 ft pier.

Just wanted to share.. I just got a shed delivered to my backyard with a sliding roof, made from https://www.mysheds.com/outdoor-retreats/star-gazer-sheds and am really happy with it! Amazing service and a really well built shed that got delivered fully assembled. They also built a concrete pad and a 5 ft pier. ![]() |

Looks great. How much obstruction would you expect from that treeline?

I've been eyeing these. I presume the pier is physically detached from the concrete pad the rest of the shed sits on? What size is your RoR?

Arun H: Thanks Arun! I did do a mount model and searched areas above 35 degrees from the horizon and got a couple of points where trees block the view, if I trim the top of the trees I think I will have 360 degrees above 35 degrees to image. |

Jeff Ridder: Yes, the Stoltzfus built the concrete pad and they did do a 5 foot deep mechanically isolated pier detached from the pad. Sorry, what is a RoR? My shed is 12 X 14 feet. |

gmadkat:Jeff Ridder: Sorry…RoR == Roll-off-Roof. Great size. I was planning something similar. Do you feel you have room for two piers if you wanted? Did you get the warm room? Are you installing a control system? If so, which one? Sorry about all the questions…you’re blazing my trail! |

Jeff Ridder:gmadkat:Jeff Ridder: Not at all, happy to answer!! I do have room for 2 piers! RIght now, I have a Planewave L-350 on a rolling pier and the other pier is for a second setup. So yes, plenty of room for 2 mounts smaller than an L-350 on a wedge. It might take one L-500 and nothing else. So, depends on which mounts and scopes you have and whether you plan an Eq or Alt/Az setup. I did not get the warm room! I wanted the porch and control it from my home close by. I am debating on which control system to install, I got to put some kind of automation but not worked it out yet. I am ok operating it from home for now via a remote desktop. Feel free to ask anything else!! |

gmadkat: Love it! Saw on your profile that you’re in NOVA, so that answers the question of whether they deliver to VA — I’m outside Charlottesville (after 26 years in NOVA). Please post an update when you choose a control system. You’ve inspired me to finally fill out that form on their website. 😬 |

Oh that is fantastic, yes! They do deliver in NoVA and likely will in Charlottesville as well!! I will do so on the control system. Were there any alternatives you are evaluating? All the best and so glad you are looking into it now! |

The controllers I’m tracking are the Sky Roof from Interactive Astronomy and the Dragonfly from Lunatico. I also talked with some folks at NEAIC that have a startup — darkdragonsastro.com.
