Issues with a 25mm lens I am a newbie but I have the skywatcher 200mm f/5 and well a 25mm lens with some kind of extender. The only good use I had was the moon other olanets just look like stars please help and ty. |

My guess is you are in the wrong forum. Here it is just astrophotography we're dealing with. You need to go elsewhere for help on visual astronomy. This said the "25mm lens" is a 25mm eyepiece and combined with the telescope focal length of 1000mm should give you 40x magnification which should be enough to show all the major planets most defnitely not as stars but quite small indeed. You'd need a 10mm eyepiece to start to see some details. A barlow lens of good quality would also increase magnification (2x or 3x, depending on the specific one) and help you in seeing more details.

Thanks for the reply I bought a 4mm and I educated myself on astrophotography and im yet to buy a astrophotography camera(I use my phone) and I still gotta wait for mars to be visible cus of bad weather.
