During the last few months the weather in the UK has felt as if it has been worse than usual for astrophotography. To check whether this was the case I knocked up a quick Python script to trawl though my LIGHTS files, ignoring any that would probably fail my selection criteria, and see how many potentially useable hours of imaging I managed to acquire each month.
The results were interesting (to me anyway), as while it shows Jan this year was down on last year, the back end of 2022 was significantly better than previous years. I'm also managing to get an average monthly total of around 58 hours/month of useable images, not too bad considering the reputation our weather has here
